Game rules
Preparation: 2 or more people, four dice and one die bowl. It is first agreed that the person with the lowest point in each round will receive one unit of punishment.
- Players roll four dice in sequence. You must throw at least one pair to get a point; if all four are different, or if three are the same and one is different, you must re-throw.
- A pair: Set aside the matching pair and add the values of the other two dice. For example, 2, 2, 3, and 5 are 8 points.
- Two pairs: Take the pair with the larger number and add them together. For example, 1, 1, 4, and 4 score 8 points; 2, 2, 6, and 6 are 12 points, also called "eighteen".
- Four of a kind: Four dice are identical and beat all normal points. If several players roll four of a kind, compare the face value; 6 is highest.
- Compare after everyone has valid results. Four of a kind ranks highest; ordinary scores range from 3 to 12, with higher scores ranking higher. The player with the lowest score receives one unit.
- When there are multiple players with the same lowest point, only those tied players reroll until the player with the lowest score is determined.
Example: Two 3s are deducted from 3, 3, 5 and 6 to get 11 points; 1, 2, 4 and 6 have no pairs and must be re-rolled.
